1. Introduction and Acceptance of Terms
Welcome to Zen-Tavo (the "Application"), expense-tracking and budgeting software supplied and operated by Allan Monge Jiménez, operating as Chirripó Studio ("we," "us," or "our"). By accessing or using this Application, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions ("Terms"). If you do not agree with these Terms, do not use the Application.
The seller and product supplier for the Application is Allan Monge Jiménez, operating as Chirripó Studio. Contact/legal mailing address: Calle Almendros #26, San Diego, La Unión, Cartago, Costa Rica.
2. Description of the Service
Zen-Tavo provides software for organizing expenses, income, budgets, and transaction records. Users can enter transactions manually or forward bank and receipt notification emails to a personal @zen-tavo.com address so the Application can extract, categorize, and summarize transaction information. By forwarding email to Zen-Tavo, you confirm that you have the right to provide that email content for processing and understand that forwarded messages may include personal or financial information about you or third parties. Do not forward emails that you are not authorized to process through the Application. The core services provided by Zen-Tavo include:
Users can categorize, edit, search, and navigate their financial transactions with inline editing, month-by-month navigation, and multi-currency support, giving them an organized view of their financial activities.
Enables users to create and monitor personalized budgets with period scoping and multiple categories, helping them stay on track with their financial goals.
AI-powered interpretation of financial data from forwarded emails that improves accuracy over time. Note: The accuracy of automated data interpretation is subject to various factors including, but not limited to, email formatting, document quality, and clarity of financial information. Zen-Tavo makes no warranty regarding the complete accuracy of automated interpretation and users remain responsible for reviewing and verifying all interpreted data.
Automatically categorizes transactions, providing insights into spending patterns and budget alignment.
Lets users add and manage receipts and documents, providing additional context to their transactions.
Provides users with insights into their expenses, income, year summaries, charts, and exchange rates through a comprehensive dashboard and detailed reports.
Supports transactions in multiple currencies with automatic exchange rate conversion, allowing users to manage finances across different currencies.
Allows users to export their transaction data in CSV format for external analysis and record-keeping.
Users can request deletion of their account and associated application data from the app or through the privacy contact, subject to records that must be retained for security, payment, legal, accounting, fraud-prevention, backup, or dispute reasons.
Zen-Tavo reserves the right to modify or limit access to certain features at its sole discretion, including restricting some features to premium or paid users.
3. Payment Processing and Subscriptions
Zen-Tavo+ premium subscriptions are processed through Lemon Squeezy as merchant of record or authorized reseller. Lemon Squeezy is responsible for checkout, payment processing, applicable tax calculation and remittance, invoicing, refund administration, chargeback handling, and the customer billing portal, while Chirripó Studio remains the product supplier and operator of Zen-Tavo.
- Zen-Tavo does not store full payment card numbers or bank payment credentials on its servers.
- New users may receive a 14-day free trial of Zen-Tavo+ before billing starts.
- Paid subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled before the renewal date through the applicable payment provider, customer portal, or support channel.
- Taxes, VAT, payment methods, billing details, refunds, and payment disputes may be handled by the applicable payment provider under its own terms and policies.
- Our standard refund policy is a refund within 14 days of the first paid charge when requested through support@app.zen-tavo.com. The current refund policy is available at /refund. Renewals after continued use are generally not refundable, but Lemon Squeezy may issue refunds at its discretion within 60 days of purchase to prevent chargebacks, and any payment provider may issue refunds when required by law, policy, or chargeback-prevention rules.
- Before raising a chargeback or payment dispute with your card issuer or bank for a Lemon Squeezy transaction, contact Lemon Squeezy through the applicable receipt, order, or customer portal channel.
- Users are responsible for maintaining accurate and up-to-date payment, billing, and contact information with the applicable payment provider.
4. Data Privacy and Security
Zen-Tavo processes personal information, forwarded emails, extracted transaction records, attachments, subscription metadata, and support information as described in our Privacy Policy at /privacy. The Application does not sell personal information and does not use forwarded financial emails or extracted transaction records for behavioral advertising.
AI-powered features such as email interpretation and categorization use Google Cloud services, including Vertex AI in our Google Cloud account. Data sent to Vertex AI is processed to provide the requested feature, and, consistent with Google Cloud's AI/ML privacy commitments, Google does not use customer data submitted to managed Vertex AI models to train or fine-tune AI/ML models unless the customer gives prior permission or instruction. Zen-Tavo does not allow forwarded financial emails or extracted transaction records to be used to train public AI models. Users remain responsible for reviewing and verifying AI-generated or automatically extracted transaction data.
Zen-Tavo uses reasonable administrative, technical, and operational safeguards to reduce the risk of unauthorized access. No software or hosting system can be guaranteed perfectly secure. Users are responsible for protecting their login credentials and notifying Zen-Tavo promptly about suspected unauthorized access, and Zen-Tavo may restrict or terminate access when needed to protect the service or other users.
5. User Accounts and Eligibility
To access and use the features of Zen-Tavo, users must:
- Be of legal age to use expense-tracking and budgeting tools in their jurisdiction. Users under the age of 18 may use the Application with the consent of a parent or legal guardian.
- Register an account using accurate, current, and complete information.
- Safeguard their login credentials and immediately inform Zen-Tavo of any unauthorized access or security concerns.
Zen-Tavo reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that fail to meet these eligibility requirements or that engage in unauthorized use.
6. User Conduct and Acceptable Use
By using Zen-Tavo, you agree to:
- Comply with all applicable local, state, national, and international laws and regulations.
- Refrain from sharing harmful, offensive, or illegal content through the Application.
- Not engage in any activities that could disrupt, damage, or interfere with the operation of the Application, including reverse-engineering, tampering, or unauthorized access.
Zen-Tavo has the right to suspend or terminate user accounts for violations of these Terms, including misuse of the platform or activities that harm the integrity of the service.
7. Intellectual Property
Zen-Tavo retains full ownership of all intellectual property associated with the Application, including its software, design, branding, logos, and content. Users are not permitted to copy, alter, distribute, or create derivative works from the Application without prior written consent from Zen-Tavo. Violations of intellectual property rights may result in legal action.
8. Third-Party Integrations and Content
Zen-Tavo integrates with third-party providers for hosting, email processing, AI-powered features, error monitoring, analytics, support, and payment processing. These providers may include Google Cloud, Vertex AI, Lemon Squeezy, and other infrastructure or support providers. While we carefully select our providers, Zen-Tavo is not responsible for issues, inaccuracies, interruptions, or policy decisions caused by third-party services. By using the Application, users acknowledge that Zen-Tavo depends on these services.
9. Limitation of Liability and Disclaimers
The Application is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without any guarantees of uninterrupted access, error-free operation, or absolute accuracy of information. Zen-Tavo is expense-tracking and budgeting software only. It is not financial advice, investment advice, tax advice, legal advice, accounting advice, banking, lending, credit repair, debt relief, currency exchange, money transmission, or a regulated financial service.
Users assume full responsibility for reviewing transaction records, budgets, reports, AI-generated data, and any decisions made using the Application. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Zen-Tavo's liability is limited to the amount paid for the service, if any, and excludes any consequential, incidental, or indirect damages.
10. Modifications to the Terms and Services
Zen-Tavo may revise these Terms at any time to reflect changes in its services, practices, or legal obligations. We will notify users of any significant changes via email or in-app notifications. Continued use of the Application after any modifications to these Terms constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
Zen-Tavo also reserves the right to modify or discontinue specific features, including limiting access for free or paid users, as part of ongoing service enhancements.
11. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of Costa Rica, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. If you act as a consumer, this choice does not limit any non-waivable consumer-protection rights that may apply in your place of residence. Courts in Costa Rica will have jurisdiction over disputes that cannot be resolved informally, unless applicable mandatory law gives you a different forum or right.
